Our Horses

Aries
Hello, I’m Aries, but the Jockey Club knows me as Parson Brown. I am a 15-hand bay off-the-track Thoroughbred with a laid back vibe and a touch of ego. I am pretty fancy, after all, I’m Stacey’s personal horse. For some strange reason some of the people around here like to call me “Eyeballs” because I have white sclera bias and you can see the white part of my eyes most of the time. I do occasionally step in to teach advanced students. I’m patient, very forward, and always ready to work. If you get the opportunity to ride me, you’ll learn to balance relaxation with power and you can appreciate my confidence over fences while you’re at it. Sometimes I can be a bit cheeky. I’ve been known to keep Stacey on her toes by playing games like halting sideways in my dressage tests at the big shows.

Degas
Hi friend, I’m Degas. I am the pony with all the opinions. I’m a 13.2 hand POA who specializes in teaching the smaller kids. I am proud to have taken several kids to the 4H state championship horse show in my career and I have some very fancy moves for my riders who know how to ask for them. I am also an opportunist when it comes to snack breaks. If my rider loses focus for even a second I am going straight for the snacks. My specialty is teaching attention to detail with ground manners and confidence. I keep my students on their A game and I may be a little sassy, but I’m an excellent teacher and will help you learn to be the best!

Helios
Hi! I’m Helios. I am a 16-hand bay off-the-track Thoroughbred with a puppy-dog personality. I had a productive racing career and won over $100,000 before I retired from the track. I liked racing but I love my current job in Stacey’s program. You’ll often catch me “smiling” with my front teeth out while being groomed. Sometimes, if you find the right itchy spot I’ll lean into it and shake my back leg like I see the golden retrievers around the barn do! I specialize in intermediate riders and love helping them grow in confidence. When I’m not working, I’m almost certainly getting into mischief with my friends in the field. I am one of the three amigos that are always up to some sort of shenanigans. My specialty is hiding my shoes in the mud so I get to see our farrier more often. Our farrier would never admit it, but I know I am his favorite. I’m silly, sweet, and always happy to see what the day brings.

Impromptu
I’m Imp, formally known as Impromptu. I am a 16-hand grey Oldenburg with a top notch resume and very high standards. I’ve competed through upper-level, 2* eventing and Prix St George dressage, and I bring that experience into every ride. I am a very sensitive horse and I take my time to evaluate my rider and build trust. I am very particular about how I like my riders to use their aids and I am not shy about telling you if you’re making a mistake. Precision and kindness are the key to a solid partnership with me. When my rider is effective and focused, I am an incredible partner. I work with advanced students, and I take pride in helping them refine their skills and feel what true harmony is like.

Minka
Hello, I’m Minka. I am a 14.3-hand paint mare who is sweet but very particular. I work with advanced beginner and intermediate riders and take my teaching role seriously. Jumping is my favorite, but I also like to lead the group when we warm up or cool down hacking out in the fields. I expect my students to show up ready to work, and I’ll make sure you put in the work to be your best. If you prove to me I can trust you by showing me your horsemanship and effective riding skills I will return the favor and take care of you along the way. I have high expectations to earn my trust, but if you meet them, I’m a wonderful partner and a very proud teacher.

Shasta
Hey there, I’m Shasta. If you see me out competing, I am known as Secret Susan. I’m a 14-hand Spotted Haflinger mare with a sweet, steady personality. I’m still building my balance and sometimes I test how well my riders can maintain tempo, but I try my hardest every day. I work with beginner adults and intermediate kids, helping them feel safe and supported while they learn. Like my fellow haflinger Zoey I think the best part of any day is meal time. I may be quiet, but I have a big heart and a strong desire to do well for my riders.

Sketch
Hey there, I’m Sketch! I’m a 16.1 hand Canadian Warmblood pinto with a goofy streak and a heart of gold. I specialize in beginner adults and teenagers. When you take a lesson with me, I truly believe we’re a team. Some of my teenagers even say we are more like best friends. I always try my hardest to understand what you’re asking and give you my best effort every ride. I may be a little silly at times, but that just makes learning more fun. When I am not working I love to hang out with my best friend Degas. I’m pretty popular around the barn and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Woodstock
Oh hi, I’m Woodstock! I’m the big guy of the three amigos. I am a 17-hand chestnut Oldenburg gelding with the most willing attitude you will ever find. I try so hard for my riders and am growing into a really fancy horse in Stacey’s program. I am big and sometimes I need some help figuring out balance with the more advanced stuff so I require my rider to have excellent core strength. Because I am big and strong, I typically work with advanced students who want to polish their skills and feel what it’s like to ride a big, expressive partner. I love learning, improving, and making my riders proud. When I am not working, I love to cause mischief with my friends in the field. You can often find me with my other two amigos Helios and Graham.

Zoey
Hi, I’m Zoey! If you see me at a show they call me The Blonde Bombshell you’ve probably noticed trotting into the show ring with confidence. I’m a 14.2 hand Haflinger with a big personality and even bigger presence. I take my job very seriously, especially when it comes to my beginner riders. I’ll keep you safe, steady, and smiling every step of the way. When my advanced riders climb on, I love to show off my fancy moves and I will jump anything in our path. We might stop for a few snack breaks if you get distracted, and meal time is my favorite time of the day. I can be a little sassy and I am bossy with the other horses, but if you’re my student, I’ve got you covered.
Our horses are excited to meet you!
